Privacy Policy
Starhour, by Arkaledge. Effective 1 November 2026.
Starhour reads your astrology from your birth details. This page explains what that means for your data. In short: there are no accounts, your profile stays on your phone, and we don't sell or share your data for advertising.
What you give us
- Your profile: your first name, birth date, birth time (if you know it) and birth place, and your answers in onboarding, such as what you'd like to focus on and your relationship status.
- Your partner's details, if you add them: their first name, birth date and time, and the month you got together.
- Your questions to the astrologer.
Your profile is stored on your device. To write your chart, timeline and readings, the app sends these details to Starhour's server with each request. Starhour's server runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States. It holds these details only in short-lived memory to answer the request and does not keep them in a database.
AI
Readings and answers are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. To write them, Starhour's server sends your birth details, onboarding answers, partner details and questions to Anthropic's API. Anthropic processes them to produce the reading under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on this data. If we change AI provider, we'll update this page first.
What's collected automatically
- App usage events: which screens of the app are reached, tied to a random ID made for your installation. We use them to see where the app is confusing. They are not linked to your name or used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Device check: the app uses Apple's App Attest (or Google Play Integrity on Android) to prove requests come from the real app. This does not identify you.
- Purchases: subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat, which tells Starhour whether a subscription is active. We never see your payment details.
Location and camera
The sky view asks for your location to work out which stars and planets are above you, and can show them over your camera. Both are used on your phone only: your location and the camera image are never sent to us or anyone else. Without location, the sky view shows the sky over your birth place.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled on your device. No push token is sent to us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use your data to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
- We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Your choices
You can change your details in the app at any time. Delete my data, in Profile, erases everything the app has stored, as does deleting the app. We keep no account or stored profile, so there's nothing else to delete on our side; if you have a question about your data, write to us below.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date.
